I try not to do much of anything during the holidays aside from spending time with friends and family. Christmas, and the days leading up to it, are too jam-packed with preparation and festivities to do anything else anyhow.
Then, three days after Christmas, the colossal holiday event widely known as my birthday arrives. Three days after the national celebration of my birth, we all usher in the New Year. So, between this, that, and everything else, writing was pushed to the back burner.
Today, the tree has been kicked the curb, the decorations have been stored in the basement, the cookies have been relocated to tummies and thighs, and the only evidence that Christmas was here lies in tattered receipts and ignored credit card statements.
Tomorrow, I shall jumpstart myself for the coming year and go to work on the plans and goals I’ve set for Womb to Bloom, Sweet Dreams, Blogzillas, and this blog.
I don’t know about you, but we had an absolute blast this holiday season. Rather than drone on about where we’ve been, what we’ve done, and all the fun we had, I figured it’s better to just show you. Not that I haven’t said it before, but I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that you created layers upon layers of memories. Just like we did!
80% of the fam. The eldest was visiting his grandparents. It was 12 degrees when this was taken. We're not posing. We're frozen in place.
Not sure the gift tag had her name on it, but that wouldn't stop her anyway.
Just what I always wanted! A gift-wrapped moody teenager.
Demonstrating how quickly Christmas elation can fade.
Kamryn's first thrown snowball. Countless more since.
Mommy and Michael standing bravely on the canal's rickety footbridge.
Jesus and Mallards can walk on water.
These ducks would come in for a landing and just slowly skid and spin to a stop.
Thumbing her nose at the fire code, my wife stuffed 40 flaming candles into the cake. Yeah, 40. But don't worry, I clearly haven't grown up yet.

Enjoying one of the perks of childhood.
A little peek at our little town in the Finger Lakes. History, charm, and beauty wrapped together. We absolutely love it here.
Heavenly.
It isn't a country holiday without some family train dodging.
New Year's Shenanigans. Before I get letters, he did NOT drink all the wine himself.
Oh, and if you haven’t seen it already, or if you’re just in a really foul mood, this one-minute video should help.
Happy New Year, everyone! We wish you nothing but the best and hope to see you again and again as the year crawls forward. May you and yours be blessed.

Looks like a good time was had by all. The town looks gorgeous. My only memory of the Finger Lakes is being dragged up there from NWPA as a child of about 7 or 8 and having to spend all day at some resort for a wedding. I don't hold grudges though. I just blame my parents.
What beautiful photos. Your kids are adorable. My two-year-old grandson also figured out how to open gifts…..his and everyone else's. But he congratulated himself…."I did it! Good job!"
