A deer ran into my friend's car late night at. She was with her boyfriend and she said it came out of nowhere, but he is convinced she drove into it!

I hope everything is going smoothly in NC

Wow, you guys have really been through it! I'm so glad the family was safe-- some of those deer accidents (we have lots here in our neck of the woods) are just horrendous.

Have a wonderful trip to NC, and happy trails to you all. We'll still be loyal readers!

Aaahhh, deer, scorpion and rattle snakes, Texas sounds a little like Australia, except every damn thing here is deadly poisonous. Red belly black snakes, Yellow belly black snakes, Red back spiders, all the pretty colours to attract small childrens curiosity!! Oh yeah, and then there are the Kangaroos that find it amusing to jump out from behind trees as you are driving down the road testing your reflex ability!! Aahh, paradise!!

Glad to hear that your family is ok...I've had many a run-in (literally) with deer in Oklahoma, so I know how much damage they can do!

There were so many things I wanted to comment on, but mainly I want to applaud your positive outlook. You've been dealt a rough hand and still manage to realize how blessed you are. A little over a year ago we lost a baby in the 4th month of pregnancy. It is something I'm still struggling to deal with. Hearing your outlook on life after something so traumatic gives me hope. Thank you!

Congrats on moving to NC though- I have family in Charlotte and it's one of my favorite cities.
