by Telling Dad on July 21, 2010

No doubt my words tell a lot of stories about my family, but I’m often short on photos. So, I figured I’d at least share some pics from the sunny shores of the Outer Banks in Duck, North Carolina from earlier this summer. ‘Cuz everyone looks better, healthier, and happier on a beach.

We’re there every year, so stop on by! We’re easy to spot. Just look for a burgundy umbrella.

Mom and son riding the waves. Water was only 55 that day. Brrrrr!

My beach babies.

Kamryns very first sand castle (er, lump of sand).

Kamryn loved crackerin' up the seagulls.

Missing our 15-year old. (Not in the water or anything...he's visiting friends).

We had to drag Michael out of the ocean. Literally.

Heather and I with our busted-up bodyboards.

This is how water was meant to be harvested.

View of the sound from our balcony. Purrrrty.

Michael vs. Ocean

The first of many crumbling pillars of sand.

Big bro pointing out the jellyfish.

And I quote...Look Dad, I'm surfing!

Heather and I bodysurfing with curious pelicans.

My Tigress. At least, she would have been if she had taken it more seriously.

Attempt at capturing the sunset with my new fancy shmancy camera.

Lightning strike captured by my dad who actually knows how to use a fancy shmancy camera.

Me and my two favorite ladies. I swear it's the angle making me look this ginormous.

Love these pics. The sunset picture actually looks quite gorgeous.

My early childhood was spent swimming in the Gulf, so those ocean pictures made me feel nostalgic. I miss it.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. :)

I love the Outer Banks. We are going to go camping in that area in the fall. There are a couple of places you can camp right on the beach.

Your wife is beautiful, gorgeous looking family. Your pictures make me miss Duck and the Outer Banks. I’m from VA and we would drive down often to the Outer Banks.
