I came over from Jennifer’s blog Eighty MPH Mom, and she is right, you are hysterical. I am glad that you appreciate your wife so much, and miss her magic! In our house, it is just the opposite, my hubby does the majority of the housework as I am disabled. However, I am the one who does the laundry, so when I was in the hospital for spinal surgery and for the first couple of months after, he started to run out of t-shirts and shorts to wear.
He also doesn’t know how to cook, so we had a LOT of take out; plus I gave directions from a prone position on the couch to him in the kitchen… it was very interesting.
Let’s hope the house is still standing when your wife returns, or you call always call “Merry Maids”.

yuppers, not much better then getting the “payback” from the kids early… I had to wait until I became a grandma!

Oh, to be on the safe side… keep am eye out for the killer dust bunnies!!!
I breed like crazy at my house & are dangerous!! I still haven’t found my new phone book from 1999!

Awww. Fairies are attracted to women. Kinda like unicorns. Everything will go back to normal when she comes back. Then presents will wrap themselves and a gorgeous Thanksgiving dinner will appear. Gotta love the magic of women.

I think your edit was completely unnecessary! Though the best part of the edit was, “In fact, if I were the one who was gone my wife would be whining about having to keep the couch held down all by herself, having to change channels all by herself, and having to eat all the ice cream without a partner.”

I think it’s great that you are appreciating the things your wife usually does for you. It’ll make the reunion that much sweeter. Though you will have to go back to sharing the ice cream. ;o)
