Mother’s Day Coercion

by Telling Dad on May 22, 2009

I love my mom, that’s no secret, and I’m finally honoring her request of sharing the video montage I made for her with others. It was a wonderful project and I think it’s resulted in more tears than anything in the history of gift-giving where my mother is concerned. In fact, I think the only thing that could match it in tear-generating power would be chopping onions in a closed chamber.

I took a bunch of old photos and 8mm film, converted it to digital video, and laced in a sappy but applicable track. The result is below and while you didn’t have the pleasure of growing up in my family, you’ll see the love that surrounded me. That and my crazy uncle giving me beer at 2 years old. Memories and evidence all in one.

Oh…this baby is 16MB after sizing it down a bit. It should buffer and stream, but if it doesn’t, please give it a chance to load. Those on dial-up may want to take a nap.

Your mom deserves this and more after raising you! But a wonderful tribute to an amazing woman. Now where’s mine?
