Monday Mingle – December 7th

by Telling Dad on December 7, 2009

monmingleIn the words of that freakish little blonde in Poltergeist…I’m baaaaaack!

Man, that was a long two weeks but we did have a great time. It’s hard to crack my way back into the blogosphere after being gone so long.

Hopefully you’ll all welcome me with open arms. I figured doing a Monday Mingle would be a great way to get the ol’ juices flowing again and I actually managed to convince my wife to participate. That’s huge.

For those unaware, Monday Mingle is a weekly video blog where a series of questions, topics or ideas are answered and discussed by participating bloggers. Jennifer over at Eighty MPH Mom posts the questions and then bloggers answer them vlog-style.

Ya know…I get back to do Monday Mingle and read that next week is it for December because of some kind of upcoming holiday or something. That’s a bummer. They’re also reducing the questions from 5 to 3. Probably because I blather on too long. I suppose I’ll have to actually start writing stuff again.

Anyhow, on to the reason you’re here…

Do you know that you put your hand right on your wife’s breast when you introduced her? *giggling*

I don’t think Mr. StraightLace would approve! ;)

Normally that would be habit but my hand was definitely behaving! :) I blame camera angle, not pervy-ness. Thanks for stopping by!

STOP WITH THE NOSE!!! I have been hearing the same argument since, well, too long to mention and just knock it off, you are stunning! BTW, we are so having wings when you come up next. Heather I will make you something un-meaty. For the record, I have seen her touch all things slimy and messy like worms. We have fished together, actually when she was in NY this summer. I am sure the boys will make us do it again.

Cluttered Brain December 7, 2009 at 5:43 pm

Your wife is beautiful she does NOT need a nose job! Thanks Heather for joining!!!
YEAH! Finally you are back, I can breathe again…;)
12 speeding tickets? i think you should be called Speedy now not Jennifer at MPH mom…;) Jeez, Slow the heck down….;)

Does your wife ever watch your Mom TV show? That’s reality TV…;)

Thanks for joining–enjoyed it as always…

Hi Greg I enjoy your Monday Mingles. My favorite one that you have done so far is Jive Turkey classic stuff. As for this week I enjoyed the half of haircut comment at the start. I have the same kind of issue. Keep up the great work.
Take care,
Steve

Ok, tell your wife I WOULD read that book of useless knowledge, because I also have that talent. And yes, I call it a talent!

How is it to smell like Canola oil?!

Bravo – so did you watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy then?

I now have a webcam, so maybe I will take part in this next week…looks like fun. I finally posted my first vlog post on MomTv.com. Great post!

LOL Hi tiny wife!

My better half does a Mr Straightlaced too just to get under my skin when I tell him he’s being an idiot about something.
I think it’s awesome that your wife can drive a tractor!
Chicken wings should ALWAYS be eaten with a fork or else the sauce gets under your nails and everywhere!
I know a ton of useless facts too but we’ll be the ones that get called when someone needs a lifeline on Millionaire :D
I’m deathly afraid of heights too but i’m only 5′5.
It’s so awesome that you love being a dad so much !
Wifey totally does NOT need a nosejob.

I LOVE wiping scents from magazines LOL I love my regular perfumes too though. ROFL @ the cooking spray.

TWELVE?!?!?! Holy cow!

Loved your mingle, see you guys next week!

And the Mazola, maybe that’s why she sat so far away Greg! LOL
Great to have you back, and so nice that your wife joined in – I hope she had fun!

Hello Greg (and Heather!). We have all been anxiously awaiting your comeback – whew! It was so nice to meet your tiny wife, Heather. I laughed so hard (as usual). She is gorgeous and so sweet!

I thought the half a haircut comment was pretty funny too. I think my hubby gets those sometimes, but I usually don’t say anything.

Thanks for mingling and don’t worry – come January we will come back – it might be only 3 questions, but probably multi part questions. It will be fun!

OMG, that was funny! Heather, you DO NOT need a nose job. I also know a ton of useless knowledge. My family won’t play trivia games with me anymore unless we’re working as a team.

Greg, A WEEK in court for speeding tickets? Are you a long lost child my dad helped conceive while out on the road during his time as a trucker? My dad has some speeding ticket stories like that.

You both are too cute together.

I am also weird about my hands. If I ate chicken wings at all it would also be with a fork. ;)

lol Mr. Straightlace.

Chicken wings with a fork and using a napkin after each bite? My husband would be the same way. In fact that’s one of the reasons he doesn’t eat chicken wings or ribs.

Oh Heather and I are birds of a feather. I am the Queen of Useless Trivia. I am. Really! I hold the title.

Oh that is so cool about wanting to be a dad for as long as you can remember. How sweet!

Hit him, Heather, for imitating you like that! lol Okay it was funny, but you still should let him have it for that. :)

Lisa @ Crazy Adventures in Parenting December 10, 2009 at 3:11 pm

“I think we’re over on time” when Heather’s talking about your tickets LMFAO! OMG, I love you guys. We *must* get together soon.

Yoly @ YNR Live December 10, 2009 at 4:29 pm

OMG Great video! So nice to “meet” your wife. You guys should do more videos together.

No forks here… we eat ‘em chicken wings the messy and fun way.

Have a good one!

Great Mingle Vid! I am new with you guys but thoroughly enjoyed it!
Heather looks like Linda Carter so I understand the placement in your article “…Missing Mom”- No nose job needed at all!
I used to be able to drive a tractor- have no idea if I could now. They have come a long way, baby since I was 12. LOL My grandfather had a tobacco farm…
12 tickets… Greg, I must say, we need the story there soon!
I can see chicken wings w/ a fork, I use a napkin… I wrap a napkin around whatever piece I hold and eat to the napkin, then switch.. I hate sauce of any kind under my nails or in my rings- LOL
Wow! No TV Heather… I wouldn’t get along w/o my crime dramas. No reality TV though unless it is on the TV Guide channel (they play the old ones) Fresh Love or whatever it was called and the Celebrity House one- when I would look for shows that are coming on, if they would play they did keep my attention because they were so ridiculous! LOL Only a few minutes then I would change to my shows… I used to work so much I never got to see all my shows so I scan looking for old programs of Criminal Minds, Numbers, CSI and such. During the day it’s HGTV so I have seen Top Chef on occasion. Great Mingle, hope to see more!

Dawn Langdon December 18, 2009 at 8:14 pm

This was a riot! Heather-any woman who grew up in upstate NY and can drive a tractor is AWESOME!! And I agree with other commenters–no nose job-you’re gorgeous! Greg–dear GOD you are a DORK! Chicken wings with a fork? And you spent your formative years in upstate NY! While I do claim to go through about 3 dozen napkins per half a dozen chicken wings, at least I can eat them properly. They have therapies and medications for issues like that!
