Dear Daddy

by Telling Dad on November 18, 2009

As many of you know by now, mainly because I won’t stop whining about it, my wife and two youngest are in New York as my wife helps her mom recover from surgery.

While I’m flying up there on Saturday to spend the week with them before we drive home together (wahooo!) I still miss them terribly. I am going nuts waiting as these days crawl by.

Today I received a letter from our 8-year old and I figured I’d let you all take a peek. He had called me ahead of the letter’s arrival to tell me that the underlined portions are to be read to his teacher and classmates. The non-underlined portions were just for me.

As if that wasn’t funny enough I totally got a kick out of his reminder at the bottom. He must think I’m a total moron. Which I’m sure he gets from my wife.

SO FREAKING ADORABLE. I LOVE that he called you to tell you about the underlines and had examples at the bottom in case you didn't get it. Too cute!!!!

Fantastic. I'm sure you'll be glad to have him home in 2,3,4 or 1 week(s). Where does an 8 year old get off with "week(s)"?

He's on to you, Greg! lol That's so stinking cute of him to emphasize the parts that are meant for you to tell his class. LOVE IT!

Awww. so glad you get to be with them. Can't wait until your next webcast. When is the date, just so I can be sure to tune in. Probably not tomorrow right? Since you are not home. Love the handwritten letter. :)

Is there anything cuter than a child giving the parent 'Visual Aides' as reminders for their wishes? I'm waiting for the Christmas Wish list: Buy me this: (drawn picture of desired item), not this: (drawn picture of undesired item with circle-slash mark through it)

Too funny!

Hahahahahaha! I LOVE the "example" boxes! What a sweet boy. And please share pictures if you can. I can just imagine you finding this letter and sharing it with him in a few years.

That is the best thing I have seen in a long time. Kids are so funny. Dad – in case you didn't understand this the FIRST three times I explained it, let me tell you again. Yeah -I don't see any parts that aren't underlined…really. I think it's mostly for the teacher LOL.

This is classic…I'm giggling like a …well…8 year old girl!

I simply love it – my oldest is 5 and is just starting to write – though her notes consist mainly of 'mom', 'dad', 'Delaney', 'Cooper' and 'love' :) Can't wait to get the full letters!
